I was introduced to knitting years ago by a friend who knew I had a VERY stressful job. She said it was soothing, like a meditation...relaxing... and she was RIGHT! Recently I decided to get back into it, and realized I'd pretty much forgotten the basics. I found this book, and it is amazing. It's been so many years, that I'm basically a beginner again. This book breaks things down into small, manageable 'bites' for even the most frazzled, time-constrained person. The pictures are clear and the instructions straightforward. I'm hoping to knit an afghan Continental style. Directions are easy to follow. I should learn many different patterns with such great visual aids.
Very pleased with my purchase. One pattern is going to make great baby gift. Just trying to decide what color.
Made the baby blanket that is in this book. My daughter loved the eyelet pattern. It knitted up pretty fast and was fun to make.
I like all of these 10-20-30 minute learn to knitting books .
As with crocheting, I haven't done any knitting since I was a little girl. This book along with the "10-20-30 Minutes to Learn to Crochet" are very good at 'jogging ones memory' or just learning to do either craft.
I learned to crochet using this company's crochet book called by a similar name. When I had decided to learn to knit, I tried some other books but found the instruction very unclear as well as the photos. So, I tried this company's book for knitting remembering how easy it was to follow for crochet and now I'm knitting with no problems! This is a great starter book.
This is a good little book to have for a beginner. I am a visual learner and some of the illustrations can be a little difficult for me but you can read along because Everything is broken down into steps. Everything is explained well. It's not a big book (52 pages) but it is handy to have. It also has 20 projects to knit.I am new to knitting and I have a long way to go but I like the way the info is broken done into easy to learn bite size pieces. I hope this helps -)
